Monday 31st May

WINTER BAREROOT SEASON is upon us - today we dug the first of the roses, a very wet ( and muddy ) start! We begin with all our garden centre orders, 70 plus this year, once completed we move on to private retail. Please note wet weather will slow the process, our staff often work in  very unpleasant conditions, each rose is hand dug.

GARDEN CENTRES: No more additions/ammendments at this late stage. You are welcome to email through 2nd orders but be mindful all EXISTING orders must be completed first. We are aware that you all want your roses first week in June, but this is a physical impossibility with the sheer volume of orders to wade through. We process orders in strict order rotation, ie Dec/Jan orders 1st, Feb/March orders and so on and so forth, later. Therefore 'PATIENCE' is the key. - 'A man who is master of patience is master of everything else.' ( George Savile) As always you will be notified when your roses are on their way.

RETAIL:  We aim to commence all retail orders mid-late July,  (upon completion of wholesale ) Any orders taken now, will be mid-late August onwards for dispatch. We send as long as roses remain dormant, so into early September is perfectly acceptable. EXISTING orders, please no ammendments/additions as all paper work is in place.

This is an extremely hectic time of year for us so email is the best form of contact, tbr@xtra.co.nz, emails are checked regularly every 2/3 days.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:

When planting your bare rooted roses, make sure the hole is wide enough for the roots to comfortably spread out and deep enough . Do not be afraid to plant as deep as the bud union, there should be NO rootstock exposed after planting, otherwise you risk root/wind rock.

Monday 2nd November:

Going forward we are having to implement some changes re our opening times to visitors, mainly post covid, but also amongst other factors. We will be open during the months of November and December and this will be by appointment only, Please contact us at tbr@xtra.co.nz to make a time to visit us, Monday to Friday, and come along when the roses will be coming into bloom.
